This is excellent, I love how you took the central idea in Sonic the Hedgehog (motion) and made it represent the character's depression. The lead is constantly in motion (in stark contrast to the dull lifeless still surroundings) until he comes face to face with his "nemesis" (himself, his loneliness/depression, a clever homage to Dr. Eggman, etc). He's running away from his boring life even all the many years later when he literally can't run anymore, and when he stops to look in the mirror he recognizes he's been running in circles and decides to stop entirely. Such great vision on so many levels.
